ICON  YOUTH

ICON is a ministry for youth in Lancaster County, PA, located at First United Methodist Church in Ephrata, PA. We believe as Christians that we need to be transformed into the likeness and image of God. In doing so we aim to reflect Christ in our lives and point others to Him. We do that by meeting twice on Sundays as well as gathering for other special events.

ICON Gatherings

On Sunday mornings:

ICON gathers in the Youth Room at 9:30 a.m. for donuts, juice, and a smile. They have 15 minutes to gather with friends and the adult staff before being challenged to grow in their relationship with Christ through Bible teaching on a youth level and discussion questions that relate to the subject.


On Sunday nights:

ICON gathers in the Youth Room from 6:00-8:00 p.m. every Sunday, with some exceptions, for a time to connect and talk with their friends and adult staff and learn about topics from the Bible.


Our times together also include additional special events and activities year-round, such as a scavenger hunt, an annual retreat, Creation, beach trip, mission trips, and more! Check out our picture gallery below for a sneak peak!

Our Purpose is to teach the Bible so that we will see our need for Christ, cling to Him for salvation, then to increase our love for God, and love for everyone, by personal study and devotion with regular meeting to grow together.


Our Mission is to motivate and enable students in 7th - 12th grade to:

Our Vision is to be a joy-filled, truth-centered, grace-oriented, spirit-empowered student ministry that multiplies students of Christ who live their faith in all areas of life.


We seek to be a loving, caring, holy, vibrant, youth ministry that glorifies God and advances His Kingdom so that Christ might be honored in this generation and our culture might be transformed over time.   



Our Name and its Meaning:

The name ICON comes from the Greek translation of the Hebrew word Iconos in Genesis 2. As Adam and Eve were created in the garden, they were the ICON of God. They reflected God’s image as we are trying to do with our lives today.
